‘I was a five-year-old sex slave’: Florida man reveals childhood of being ‘trafficked by his FAMILY, who made thousands from clients that choked and raped him’
Jerome Elam said he was forced into sexual slavery as a young boy
Says he was beaten and abused, and forced to appear in pornography
Described to news station how doctors and lawyers paid to abuse him
Said he is sharing his story to give hope to other abused children
By Kieran Corcoran For Dailymail.com 10 January 2015
A man has revealed his horrifying childhood as a five-year-old sex slave in Florida, where he says a member of his family made thousands forcing him to indulge the pedophile desires of pillars of the local community.
Jerome Elam said that he was taken advantage of by a relative, who kept him in servitude for seven years and made him participate in child pornography and take drugs.
He said that clients of his trafficker would beat, choke and rape him – and punish him severely whenever he tried to escape his life of abuse.
Elam told local station WTLV how he was dragged in and out of school in Jacksonville to fulfill the whims of his relatives’ clients, whom he claims were often doctors and lawyers with a ‘darker side’….
In a first-person account for the Communities Digital News website, Elam told how he was subjected to beatings and rape by each member of a pedophile ring before he was turned over to the clients.
He wrote: ‘My indoctrination to the “group,” as they often referred to themselves in private, consisted of being raped and beaten by each member….
According to child abuse experts, pimps can make as much as $200,000 per year from a single child, and often have as many as six under their control at any given time….
Local man tells horrifying tales of child sex slavery
Heather Crawford, WTLV May 31, 2014
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Human sex trafficking is a multi-billion dollar industry in the United States according the Department of Justice, and it’s happening right here on the First Coast. Some of the victims are young children forced to have sex dozens of times a day….
For victims of child sex trafficking there is no Christmas
by Jerome Elam – Jan 9, 2015
….My mother had married a man who forced me into being a sexual slave as the property of the pedophile ring that he belonged to. My fate had been sealed so long ago as I was ushered into this world and set adrift on a sea of dysfunction, a rudderless ship whose sails rose and fell at the whim of my mother’s addiction to chaos.
While many children were filled with the glow of the holiday spirit and the expectation of dreams fulfilled on Christmas morning, my childhood was filled with hopeless desperation. I had seen violence in my life and most often times been the target, but seeing the bottomless evil that dwelled in the eyes of my traffickers scared me down to the depths of my very soul.
….My stepfather and the pedophile ring he belonged to were on a whole different level. We are often told stories about evil but most of us are oblivious to its presence as it silently moves among us. My indoctrination to the “group,” as they often referred to themselves in private, consisted of being raped and beaten by each member. Many of the members enjoyed inflicting pain on innocent children as they were tied up, but several were as unhinged as a barn door in a tornado. Children were choked unconscious to satisfy the twisted sexual appetites of a select few of the members, and many clients of the trafficking ring also shared this sick practice.
Those who employed the “services” of my traffickers were pillars of society and the type of people who would sit beside you in church. There was a transformation that took place when I was forced into a room with them.
….The Department of Justice estimates that between 100,000 and 300,000 children are at risk of being trafficked in this country right now. Human trafficking is a $9.5 billion a year business in the U.S. according to the United Nations, and within the first forty-eight hours of leaving home a runaway child will be approached by a human trafficker. Human trafficking is second only to the drug trade as the largest criminal enterprise, according to the Justice Department. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) reports that pimps can make from $150,000 to $200,000 per year for each child. The NCMEC also reports a pimp has an average of four children, and the Polaris Project, an anti-trafficking non profit, reports the average victim of sex trafficking is forced to have sex 20-48 times a day.

LIVINGSTON PARISH, LA (WAFB) –
Two stars of the now canceled reality show “Sons of Guns” have been arrested on child abuse charges.
Warrants were issued Thursday by the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office for the arrest of Kristafor Ford and his wife Stephanie Hayden. According to the arrest warrant from Livingston Parish, Kristafor is accused of hitting a 9-year-old with a leather belt on the child’s lower, right thigh. Reports say there was a large bruise on the child’s thigh and buttocks area.
Ford was arrested Friday afternoon and charged with cruelty to a juvenile.
Stephanie Hayden was arrested Friday and charged with principal to cruelty to a juvenile because she was allegedly in the room when the incident happened….
Investigators are looking into criminal cases against Will Hayden. He is accused of raping and molesting a number of young women.
Hayden’s daughter Stephanie claimed her father touched her inappropriately when she was 12 years old. He has not been charged in that case.
Hayden has been arrested and charged with three counts of aggravated rape and one count of indecent behavior with a juvenile, all separate victims. Two of the rape charges are in East Baton Rouge Parish, the other rape charge and indecent behavior charge is out of Livingston Parish….

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) –
Deputies with the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office have added a charge of forcible rape to the list of charges against the founder of Red Jacket Firearms, 49-year-old William Hayden. The new charge is for the alleged rape of a 12-year-old female that happened about 22 years ago in East Baton Rouge Parish….
Rotherham child abuse was raised ‘at highest level’ 26 October 2014
Child abuse in Rotherham was raised “at the highest level” as far back as 2002 but officials apparently pressured a researcher to change her report.
The then chief constable Mike Hedges and the council’s director of education Di Billups were among those said to have been warned by the researcher.
Documents detailing her concerns, shown to the home affairs select committee in private, have been seen by the BBC.
The researcher said it was “a tragedy” her evidence was not looked at in 2002.
In her report to the committee the researcher, initially employed by the council to investigate prostitution, said she was pressured to present her findings in a way that presented services in Rotherham in “a better light”.
Scale of abuse
The researcher claimed she had “repeatedly” tried to raise concerns at senior levels “in the police force, social care and education”.
The scale of child abuse in Rotherham was not revealed until this year when Professor Alexis Jay’s report found at least 1400 children had been exploited….
Still concerned that children were being abused on a “daily” basis, the researcher submitted some of her evidence to Home Office evaluators.
That evidence is now missing. The researcher claimed there was a “raid” on her office the weekend after she submitted the evidence.
On coming into work, she claimed she found that all of the data relating to the Home Office work had been removed from filing cabinets. Documents on the office computer had been deleted, while others were created detailing the minutes of meetings….

Child abuse ‘rampant’ in British institutions, says Archbishop of Canterbury as he apologises for ‘significant legacy of unacknowledged cases’ in the Church of England
Archbishop said abuse has been ‘rampant’ in CoE and other institutions
Justin Welby said there is a ‘significant legacy of unacknowledged cases’

Child abuse has been ‘rampant’ in the Church of England and other British institutions, the Archbishop of Canterbury has said.
Justin Welby also said there is a ‘significant legacy’ of cases of child abuse within the church which have been ignored and that its failure to hold abusers to account is ‘inexcusable’.
Archbishop Welby made the admissions in a private letter to a mother of three boys who were abused at a Church of England school, reports Exaro, the investigative website.
Victims of Domestic Violence Getting Longer Prison Sentences Than Their Children’s Abusers?
Sunday, 26 October 2014 12:40 By Alyssa Figueroa, AlterNet | Report
….Lindley’s story was reported in a Buzzfeed news investigation which exposed the dangerous outcomes of these “failure to protect” laws. Buzzfeed found 28 mothers and domestic violence victims in 11 states who were sent to prison for at least 10 years for failing to protect their children from abuse:
“Almost half, 13 mothers, were given 20 years or more. In one case, the mother was given a life sentence for failing to protect her son, just like the man who murdered the infant boy. In another, the sentences were effectively the same: The killer got life, and the mother got75 years, of which she must serve at least 63 years and nine months. In yet another, the mother got a longer sentence than the man who raped her son. In one more, a father fractured an infant girl’s toe, femur, and seven ribs and was sentenced to two years; for failing to intervene, the mother got 30.”
Buzzfeed found that at least 29 states have failure-to-protect laws, such as injury to a child “by omission,” by “permitting child abuse” or “enabling child abuse.” Nineteen other states have laws that could also be used to prosecute parents, such as “criminal negligence in the care of a child.” Maximum prison sentences for breaking these laws vary from one year to life. And in some states, they carry the same sentence as child abuse itself.
While these laws are designed to both hold mother and father responsible for protecting their children, the law isn’t applied equally. Buzzfeed found a total 73 cases against mothers, yet only four against fathers. Women commit 34 percent of serious or fatal cases of child abuse.
“Mothers are held to a very different standard,” law professor Kris McDaniel-Miccio said. …
Japanese Wartime Medical Orderly on Army’s Role in Maintaining “Comfort Women” System
Sunday, 26 October 2014 By David McNeill, The Asia-Pacific Journal | Interview and Video
David McNeill introduction, Matsumoto Masayoshi testimony (Japanese and English transcript and video of testimony), translation by Miguel Quintana.
For years, Abe Shinzo, Japan’s prime minister, has been playing with diplomatic fire over a sordid episode of wartime history that has been at the center of a storm of controversy involving Japan, China, Korea and other outposts of Japan’s empire: the herding of thousands of women across Asia into Japanese military brothels. His decision this year to order an investigation into a landmark government apology to the so-called “comfort women” might have helped end the controversy. Instead, it has further ignited it, which may indeed have been Abe’s intention – he has campaigned for nearly two decades to undermine the apology.
The 1993 Kono statement, compiled in consultation with South Korea by Japan’s then chief cabinet secretary Kono Yohei, acknowledged the army’s role in forcing the women into sexual slavery. Nationalists, championed by the Yomiuri, Japan’s most popular newspaper, deny coercion and insist the women voluntarily provided “comfort” to frontline troops. They have repeatedly demanded the withdrawal of the so-called Kono statement, with potentially explosive diplomatic consequences….

Accused Kidnapper Ariel Castro Preyed on His Daughters’ Friends, Emily Castro Says By RUSSELL GOLDMAN May 16, 2013
Ariel Castro, the man accused of kidnapping three women and keeping them imprisoned in his home for a decade, stalked the neighborhood where his daughters lived and preyed on the girls’ friends, his daughter says.
Two of his alleged victims, Gina DeJesus and Amanda Berry, went to school with Castro’s two daughters and the four girls all knew each other, his daughter Emily told a private investigator in a recorded jailhouse interview obtained by ABC News.
“It couldn’t be coincidence,” Emily Castro told private eye Chris Giannini of her father’s decision to allegedly target two girls his daughter’s knew.

Emily Castro is serving a 25 year prison sentence for stabbing her own infant daughter in 2011.
At the time of her 2003 abduction, Berry lived just a few houses down the block from the home in which Castro’s daughters lived with their mother and stepfather. And Emily’s sister Arlene was the last person to see DeJesus before she disappeared.
Berry, now 26, and Emily, now 25, attended school together. “I went to Wilbur Wright (Middle School) with her,” Emily Castro told Giannini.
She said she was bothered that her father allegedly “used” her and her sister to look for victims on their street where they lived and played….
She said her father was routinely abusive of her mother Grimilda Figueroa, even beating her once while her mother was recovering from brain surgery. During the incident Emily Castro said she jumped on her father’s back stabbing him with a pencil in an effort to get him to stop.
Ariel Castro was arrested following that incident, but the charges were later dropped….

Juan Perez discusses his neighbor Ariel Castro, who was arrested in the abduction of three women.
Transcript for Castro Neighbor Reported Screams in Past
We’re joined by another neighbor, juan perez. Thank you for joining us this morning. I know you live just two houses away from ariel castro.
Before you saw the police pull up last night, had you had any sense that something terribly wrong was happening inside that house? No, I had no idea.
He was loving to all the kids in the neighborhood. He was nice to me since I was 5 years old. Never had any kind of suspicions….
What can you tell us what happened there? Well, my sister — my mother had heard the screaming and then I heard it too. My sister then reported it.
But we didn’t know which direction it was coming from. We didn’t know seriously if it was from the right side or the left side because we were inside the house, but there’s a difference between — there is a difference between a woman that’s, you know, playing around and joking around screaming and there’s another kind of scream that makes you want to report. And my sister reported it….

Day Breaks Over Dharamsala – A Memoir of Life Lost and Found by Janet Thomas – Day Breaks Over Dharamsala was a 20-year writing journey that started in 1990.
I’ve tried to heal from the electric shocks that could never happen but did; the sexual slavery as a child that only my body remembers; the experiments that happened to someone else In my body; the days and nights in the dark that made indistinguishable my self from all that did not exist; the places where I became an animal, where being debased for the enjoyment of others was my charm and my glory. I heal from it all, even as I know it could never have happened to me. It is what I don’t know that has both saved me and condemned me. And it seems, at times, as though there is no difference.
I do bear one visible scar. It’s four inches long and reaches down the inside of my left forearm. On my left hand are five-year old fingers and a thumb that does not bend. There is not much feeling in this hand. It is a hand that is always cold, always numb, always looked after by my other hand-the right one, the one that writes, that does everything. “The scar is real,” it writes. It is a huge scar. It is connected to medical experiments and electric shocks to see if the severed nerve would grow, and electric shocks to make sure I didn’t remember the electric shocks. And shocks to obliterate the memory of the sexual exploitation, the manipulation of my mind, and the banishment of my self to a place of hiding so profound it would take me fifty years to get her back..
Many children were experimented on in the 40s and 50s; they still are. Many children were used for child prostitution and pornography; they still are. Many children, and adults, too, had their minds experimented upon through electric shock and drugs and by the destruction of the bonds that make life possible. It is everywhere. Yet it is ultimately our healing that matters. Only in healing that which is invisible is there hope. Nutshell Books (November 2009) ISBN-13: 978-0615329215 http://www.daybreaksoverdharamsala.com/

Day Breaks Over Dharamsala – A Memoir of Life Lost and Found by Janet Thomas
Day Breaks Over Dharamsala was a 20-year writing journey that started in 1990. A year later, I moved to an island to finish it. I had no idea that I had another twenty years to go. To begin with, it was a book full of anguish, fear and loathing–for both self and other. It had no redeeming humor, no redemption, and no India. It chronicled a different trip, to California, down a highway of recrimination, shame and rage. I had a lot of healing ahead of me.

The Warlord’s Tune: Afghanistan’s war on children By Mark Bannerman for Four Corners 2/22/10
Sexual slavery involving boys as young as 10 is being condoned and in many cases protected by authorities in northern Afghanistan. In a story to be broadcast on Four Corners tonight, the practice of bacha bazi or “boy play”, as well as other allegations of child abuse, are explored. Afghan journalist Najibullah Quraishi has filmed police attending a party where a young boy is the “entertainment”. The police shown on the video include one officer from the youth crime squad. Such parties are illegal under Afghanistan law and with good reason. The “dancing boys” are in effect sex slaves. They are lured off the streets by pimps. They are taught to dance and sing, to wear make-up and to dress like girls. Then they are made to perform before large groups of men. All of them are sexually abused.
Dancing boys are a lucrative business. Powerful former warlords and businessmen love to watch them and will pay a lot of money to have their own boy for bacha bazi. Some of the boys are traded like swap cards among the rich and powerful, and if they disobey their owners they are killed or brutalised. The trade in boys is well known to the United Nations. According to Nazir Alimy, who compiled a report on the issue for the UN, there is no doubt who is funding this practice and why the police refuse to stop it….There is also evidence this type of abuse is spreading throughout Afghanistan. Mr Alimy says his research shows it is happening in the south and even in the Afghan capital, Kabul.
Terms of sex cult leader’s release anger community 8/15/08 (CNN) – The leader of a religious group that authorities believe preys on children was released from a Pennsylvania prison Friday but won’t be required to register as a sex offender, triggering outrage in the community where he plans to live….George Feigley, now 68, was convicted in 1975 on charges including statutory rape, indecent assault and corrupting the morals of minors.
Because Feigley’s 1975 conviction predated the passage of Megan’s Law, he will not be required to register as a sex offender. And, having served his maximum sentence, he was not put on parole upon his release….
The church’s manifesto says, “We hold that the changes called creation and procreation are divine and that human sexuality is to humans the most available expression of that function of divinity,” according to community activist Scott Portzline, who has researched Feigley’s history and that of the group. “Sexual activity is the greatest act a human can do.”

This is George Feigley FRIDAY, HE’S FREE Sunday, August 10, 2008 BY CARRIE CASSIDY Of The Patriot-News She lived in a world where parents willingly gave up their children to a man who declared himself “The Light of the World.”
A world where children were beaten for letting anyone but fellow cult members see them, and their genitals were pierced with a lock to be controlled by this so-called prophet. It was a world unimaginable to most people, but it was her reality for seven years, from the time she was 5 until her mother broke free of George Feigley’s grip.
Three decades later, that world still haunts her through dreams occasionally featuring Feigley and his flock of followers. She was shocked to learn from a reporter that the man who beat her, made her call him “Master,” and photographed her in graphic sexual poses would be released from prison this week. http://www.pennlive.com/news/patriotnews/index.ssf?/base/news/1218143411281160.xml&coll=1
