‘I want to dethrone her, and take away her money’: Victim of notorious cult The Family is taking the infamous group’s elderly leader to court

Leanne Creese spent 16 years trapped in the Melbourne-based cult
She hopes to remove leader Anne Hamilton-Byrne’s legal guardians
The Family’s assets are said to be worth upwards of $10 million
The action will be heard before the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal

By Matilda Rudd For Daily Mail Australia
4 September 2017

….The children, who had their hair bleached blonde and shaped into the same bob, were allegedly beaten, starved and injected with LSD by Hamilton-Byrne (pictured right) and other cult leaders

In total the cult’s assets are said to be worth up to $10 million, with properties in the Dandenong Ranges near Melbourne and the United States.

Ms Creese, who has previously shined light on the abuse and use of drugs inside the cult, told The Age: ‘I want to dethrone her, and take away her money.’….

Hamilton-Byrne (pictured), one of very few female cult leaders, was under the influence of LSD when she began collecting children in Lake Eildon in central Victoria in the 1970s and 1980s in preparation for what she believed was an apocalyptic war….

Police dramatically rescued the traumatised children from the sect property in 1987 after three young women managed to escape and alert police, survivor Ben Shenton previously told The Today Show.

‘What Anne indoctrinated people with, she took them as vulnerable people and came up with a system which was very abusive. If they disagree they were bullied, intimidated, people were separated from their families,’ Mr Shenton said….

Verification of the accuracy of the book “Michelle Remembers
by Michelle Smith and Lawrence Pazder, MD from the book “A NOTE FROM THE PUBLISHER” pages xi – xiii”

“Dr. Pazder’s credentials are impressive. He obtained his M.D. from the University of Alberta in 1961; his diploma in tropical medicine from the University Liverpool in 1962; and in 1968, his specialist certificate in psychiatry and his diploma in psychological medicine from McGill University. In 1971, he was made a fellow of Canada’s Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons. He is a member of three Canadian professional associations and of the American Psychiatric Association as well. He practiced medicine in West Africa and has participated in medical task forces and health organizations. He has been chairman of the Mental Health Committee of the Health Planning Council for British Columbia. A member of the staff of two hospitals in Victoria, British Columbia -the Royal Jubilee and the Victoria General-he is in private practice with a group of five psychiatrists. His professional papers include a study of the long-term effects of stress upon concentration-camp victims.

Two experienced interviewers journeyed to Victoria and talked to Dr. Pazder’s colleagues, to the priests and the bishop who became involved in the case, to doctors who treated Michelle Smith when she was a child, to relatives and friends. From local newspaper, clergy, and police sources they learned that reports of Satanism in Victoria are not infrequent and that Satanism has apparently existed there for many years. Satanism in Western Canada flourished in many areas with activities far more ominous than some of the innocuous groups now found in parts of the United States who claim some connection with Satanism.

The source material was scrutinized. The many thousands of pages of transcript of the tape recordings that Dr. Pazder and Michelle Smith made of their psychiatric sessions were read and digested; they became the basis of this book. The tapes themselves were listened to in good measure, and the videotapes made of some of his sessions were viewed. Both the audio and video are powerfully convincing. It is nearly unthinkable that the protracted agony they record could have been fabricated.”

Ritual abuse exists all over the world. There have been reports, journal articles, web pages and criminal convictions of crimes against children and adults.

Definition

Ritual abuse has been defined as:

a brutal form of abuse of children, adolescents, and adults, consisting of physical, sexual, and psychological abuse, and involving the use of rituals. Ritual does not necessarily mean satanic. However, most survivors state that they were ritually abused as part of satanic worship for the purpose of indoctrinating them into satanic beliefs and practices. Ritual abuse rarely consists of a single episode. It usually involves repeated abuse over an extended period of time. The physical abuse is severe, sometimes including torture and killing. The sexual abuse is usually painful, sadistic, and humiliating, intended as means of gaining dominance over the victim. The psychological abuse is devastating and involves the use of ritual/indoctrination, which includes mind control techniques and mind altering drugs, and ritual/intimidation which conveys to the victim a profound terror of the cult members and of the evil spirits they believe cult members can command. Both during and after the abuse, most victims are in a state of terror, mind control, and dissociation in which disclosure is exceedingly difficult.

and as

WHAT IS RITUAL ABUSE? (BROAD DEFINITION) Ritual abuse is the abuse of a child, weaker adult, or animal in a ritual setting or manner. In a broad sense, many of our overtly or covertly socially sanctioned actions can be seen as ritual abuse, such as military basic training, hazing, racism, spanking children, and partner-battering. Some abuse is private…some public. Public ritual abuse may be either open or secret. WHAT IS RITUAL ABUSE? (NARROW DEFINITION) The term ritual abuse is generally used to mean prolonged, extreme, sadistic abuse, especially of children, within a group setting. The group’s ideology is used to justify the abuse, and abuse is used to teach the group’s ideology. The activities are kept secret from society at large, as they violate norms and laws.

Origins of the term

Pazder introduced the term “ritualized abuse” in 1980, describing the experiences of an adult survivor that was disclosing satanic abuse memories. He defined the phenomenon as “repeated physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual assaults combined with a systematic use of symbols, ceremonies, and machinations designed and orchestrated to attain malevolent effects.” Later definitions came mostly from professionals addressing ritual abuse in child care settings. Finkelhor, Williams, Burns, and Kalinowski elaborated on Pazder’s definition, defining ritual abuse as “abuse that occurs in a context linked to some symbols or group activity that have a religious, magical or supernatural connotation, and where the invocation of these symbols or activities are repeated over time and used to frighten and intimidate the children.” Kelley referred to ritual abuse as the “repetitive and systematic sexual, physical, and psychological abuse of children by adults as part of cult or satanic worship”.
Evidence

There is a great deal of evidence supporting the existence of ritual abuse crimes as a worldwide phenomenon. Bottoms, Shaver and Goodman found in their 1993 study evaluating ritual abuse claims that in 2,292 alleged ritual abuse cases, 15% of the perpetrators in adult cases and 30% of the perpetrators in child cases confessed to the abuse. “In a survey of 2,709 members of the American Psychological Association, it was found that 30 percent of these professionals had seen cases of ritual or religion-related abuse (Bottoms, Shaver & Goodman, 1991). Of those psychologists who have seen cases of ritual abuse, 93 percent believed that the reported harm took place and 93 percent believed that the alleged ritualism occurred….The similar research of Nancy Perry (1992) which further supports (the previous findings)…Perry also conducted a national survey of therapists who work with clients with dissociative disorders and she found that 88 percent of the 1,185 respondents indicated ”belief in ritual abuse, involving mind control and programming.”

An online survey of over one thousand people answered questions about ritual abuse and extreme abuse crimes. In a summary of the survey, it was found that ritual abuse/mind control is a global phenomenon. Fifty-five percent stated they were abuse in a Satanic cult. Seventy-seven percent of the adult survivors that responded “had been threatened with death if they ever talked about the abuse.” Also, “257 respondents reported that secret mind control experiments were used on them as children.” Eighty-two percent reported being sexually abused by multiple perpetrators.

Anne Johnson Davis in her book Hell Minus One reported that her parents confessed to her abuse in writing and verbally to clergymen, and to the detectives from the Utah Attorney General’s Office. Her suppressed memories started when she was in her mid-30s, which were fully substantiated by her mother and stepfather….

A study which identified 270 cases of sexual abuse in day care settings found that allegations of ritual abuse occurred in thirteen percent of the cases. Additional evidence of ritual abuse in day care and child abuse cases has been found in news reports, journal articles and legal transcripts.

Ritual abuse occurrences have also been found in the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. A ritual abuse case in the United States in 2006 had a confession and convictions. The case included up to 25 children.

Edward Heath abuse claims: Police defend investigation

2 December 2016  UK
An inquiry into child sex abuse claims involving ex-Prime Minister Sir Edward Heath is exploring a “significant number” of lines, police say.

Wiltshire Police Chief Constable Mike Veale has defended Operation Conifer, insisting it is not a “fishing trip or witch-hunt”.

He said officers had received “allegations spanning a significant number of individuals”.

It emerged last month that two people had been arrested and bailed.

Former Conservative prime minister Sir Edward died at his home in Salisbury in July 2005, aged 89.

In an open letter, Mr Veale said he would not be “buckling under pressure to not investigate or to conclude the investigation prematurely”.

He said he wanted to “set the record straight” amid press reports the inquiry was floundering.

‘Satanic abuse’

The chief constable described Sir Edward as an “extremely prominent, influential and high profile person”.

“The decision to undertake this incredibly complex and challenging investigation was not taken lightly particularly knowing, or at least expecting, that we would be placed under intense scrutiny,” he said.

Mr Veale also confirmed reports that satanic ritual sex abuse was a feature of the investigation, although he said it was a small part and did not relate to Sir Edward.

Edward Heath child abuse investigation ‘not a witch-hunt’
Wiltshire chief constable says significant number of people have disclosed claims of historical abuse against ex-prime minister  Vikram Dodd and Owen Bowcott Friday 2 December 2016

The chief constable of the force investigating claims that Sir Edward Heath sexually abused children has vowed not to buckle under “unacceptable” media pressure, insisting the investigation into the late prime minister is not a “fishing trip” or a “witch-hunt”.

A “significant number of individuals have disclosed allegations of abuse”, the Wiltshire police chief, Mike Veale, said on Friday in an extraordinary 1,600-word statement that sought to rebuff media criticism and keep the 15-month investigation on track.

The Guardian understands that at least 15 people have made allegations to the police around the country claiming Heath, who died in 2005, was involved in the sexual abuse of children.

Multiple sources say the Wiltshire-led Operation Conifer remains live and the claims are regarded by police as credible, with inquiries continuing into whether they can be shown to be true or disproved. Police are describing the complainants as “victims” in private….

Dr Rachel Hoskins, an expert on ritual sacrifice who has been asked by detectives to examine claims made against Heath and others as part of Operation Conifer, has been highly critical of the investigation….

Heath was prime minister from 1970-74. A world-class yachtsman in his spare time, he took Britain into what was then the European Economic Community. His time in power was beset by industrial strife, and confrontations with the then powerful trade unions plunged Britain into a three-day week.

He was elected leader of the the Conservative party in 1965 and won the 1970 election…..

David Beckham tattoos come to life for child abuse campaign
By Judith Burns Education reporter  5 December 2016
David Beckham’s tattoos have taken on a life of their own in a Unicef film highlighting physical and psychological abuse that can leave lasting marks.

In the one-minute film, scenes of violence against children appear as animated tattoos on the former footballer’s body.

David Beckham, now a Unicef goodwill ambassador, said he had been shocked by children’s accounts of violence.

He is urging people to share the film on social media.
Meaningful marks

Beckham, 41, said his real tattoos represented happy or important memories, but the film was highlighting the fact millions of children bore marks they had not chosen – the long-lasting scars of violence and abuse.

The animations in the film depict forms of violence that children endure in places where they should be safe, such as their homes, schools, online and in their communities.

The father of four, said he was committed to doing “everything I can to make the world a safer place for children and to speak out on issues that are having a devastating impact on children’s lives”.

“One of those issues is violence,” he said.

“Every five minutes, somewhere in the world, a child dies from violence.

“Millions more are in danger of physical, emotional and sexual abuse that could destroy their childhoods forever.”….

Two-thirds of 190,000 children and young people around the world who responded to a Unicef call for information via its online U-report tool, said they had personally experienced physical or verbal abuse or knew someone else who had.

The responses suggested the biggest perpetrators were:
police and other law enforcers (33%)
other children and young people (29%)
parents or care givers (28%)
teachers (9%)….

Leah Remini Vs. The Church Of Scientology
A&E’s new reality show follows Remini as she takes on the enormous church she left behind
Teo Bugbee

“When I first started filming this show, I thought I would just be documenting stories of families torn apart by the Church of Scientology’s policies and practices,” intones the once comedy actress and now justice crusader Leah Remini as she stares straight into the camera, the image pushing in on her face. “What I uncovered was much deeper and darker than I ever expected.” Last night, A&E launched a new series called Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath from the outspoken actress and longtime Scientologist as she continues to fight against what she sees as the hypocrisy and abuses of her former religion….

The series is mostly comprised of interviews that Remini made with former members of Scientology detailing the horrors that they experienced during their time in the church, from Scientology’s policy of cutting off contact between family members who leave, to fraud, to physical and sexual abuse. A lot of these allegations have been made public before, but the openness about sexual abuse is relatively new information in the narrative around Scientology and its problems, along with what former Sea Organization member Amy Scobee describes in the first episode as the church’s practice of punishing abuse from within a secret internal system. But for the most part, the stories that Remini seeks to tell are like others that have trickled out in recent years, as Scientology has incurred more and more high-profile defections….

Remini retreads the story she told in her book, Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology, about her own involvement with Scientology. Her mother fell in love with a man who introduced the family to the religion, and he left her as she was pregnant with their child. Remini became the breadwinner as soon as she could, as she and her mother were taken in by other Scientologist families who promised support so long as they were a part of the religion. For people who have heard the story before, Remini juices the narrative up with the threats and smears currently coming her way from the spokespeople for Scientology. If the church thinks they could scare viewers away by accusing Remini of turning on the church for her own personal gain, Remini is there to read those accusations at the start of the hour, noting that the Church of Scientology lists her collaborators as “deadbeats, admitted liars, perjurers, wife-beaters, and worse.” ….

2 Million Protesters Demand South Korean President Resign Over Major Shaman Cult Scandal
By Anugrah Kumar , Christian Post Contributor

Around 2 million demonstrators in South Korea called for the resignation of President Park Geun-hye on Saturday over a major scandal involving her 60-year-old confidant, who is the daughter of a Shamanistic cult leader.

The crowd gathered at the Blue House, the presidential residence, in Seoul to demand Park’s resignation over allegations that she allowed Choi Soon-sil, who does not hold an official government post, to mastermind governmental policy and decision making and thereby accumulate millions of dollars in donations to her foundations, according to CNN.

Protests against Park, who was baptized in the Catholic Church when she was a student at the Jesuit-run Sogang University, have been taking place for over five weeks. Park later reportedly identified herself as having no religion.

Choi, the daughter of a South Korean Shamanistic cult leader, Choi Tae-min, from the Eternal Life Church, has allegedly been allowed to view confidential documents and presidential speeches, and is charged with abuse of power, fraud and coercion.

Choi has reportedly received spiritual guidance from her father for years.

Shamanism is a practice that involves a practitioner reaching altered states of consciousness in order to perceive and interact with a spirit world and channel these transcendental energies into this world….

Anthony Weiner’s sext featuring his son could lead to child neglect inquiry

BY  Barbara Ross  Adam Edelman  Stephen Rex Brown NEW YORK DAILY NEWS  Monday, August 29, 2016,
Anthony Weiner’s latest cyber-sexcapades, featuring a photo of his sleeping son beside the pervy ex-pol’s bulging crotch, ended his marriage Monday — and could now lead to an investigation for child neglect, experts say.

“Any time adults draw children into their own sexual activity they have crossed the line. It is always inappropriate for an adult to connect any child to their sexual activities, however peripheral,” said Tim Hathaway, executive director at Prevent Child Abuse New York.

Hours after the sexts were made public, Weiner’s wife, Huma Abedin, a top adviser to Hillary Clinton, announced she was separating from her…hubby.

This time, the messages Weiner sent from his Twitter account — which was taken down Monday morning — reportedly included him cracking a joke and snapping a photo of his 5-year-old son, Jordan, jumping into bed beside him as his dad sexted with a woman….

It has been previously reported that Clinton’s people have wanted Abedin to leave Weiner because he could be a liability to her presidential campaign.

Sources said Weiner and Abedin had been estranged for some time and that her decision to separate was not due solely to his latest sexts. Their son was a major reason why they stuck together for so long, sources said….

NY1, where Weiner was a frequent guest, put him on indefinite leave on Monday.

The Daily News also said it would no longer publish his opinion columns.

Weiner and Abedin married in a 2010 wedding officiated by Bill Clinton. Weiner was considered a rising star in the Democratic Party, while she was practically a member of the Clinton family.

But Weiner’s online indiscretions derailed his once-promising political career in 2011 when he resigned from Congress and again in 2013 while embarking on a campaign for mayor.

Abedin stood by Weiner on both those occasions.

Ex-Jehovah’s witness reveals secrets of religious group

The treatment of women, child abuse and how to prevent being visited by followers of the religion are among topics confronted by ex-member  29 August 2016      Samuel Osborne

A former Jehovah’s Witness has offered a rare insight into the religious group, describing it as a cult that “tries to control emotions, thought, information and behavior of a person”.

The man, who did not want to be formally identified, shared his experience of growing up as a Jehovah’s Witness in Poland in an Ask Me Anything post on Reddit.

Using the username “Ohmyjw”, the former Jehovah’s Witness (JW) elder speaks out against the group’s rules, such as prohibiting blood transfusion “even if that costs them their life” or believing the world “will end in Armageddon ‘very soon'”….

Those who leave the faith are called “apostates” and are “disfellowshipped”, a term for formal expulsion and shunning, where members are “prohibited from talking, and even from saying ‘hello’ to them”, according to Ohmyjw.

In one situation where an elder started to lose his faith and challenge the group, he said they allegedly denounced him and spread gossip about him, pressuring him “so much he jumped into a river and killed himself”.

When asked how women were regarded in JW society, the former elder said they were thought of as “a complement for a man”, adding: “She should be submissive to her husband, who is the head of their family and it is he who makes all the important decisions.

“Women cannot teach in the congregation, they cannot deliver public talks or say public prayers. When they conduct a private Bible study or say a prayer with another person, while a man is around, she has to wear a scarf on her head as a sign of being submissive.”….

He also criticised the group for having a “big problem with child abuse,” saying “they believe child abuse is only a sin, not really a crime, the elders in almost all cases don’t report to the authorities, instead they try to handle it inside the congregation”.

The group allegedly requires “two witnesses to the event” and regularly decide to “leave the matter in the hands of Jehovah”.

“They basically value the ‘good name of the organisation’ more than the safety of the children,” he adds….

Greville Janner’s family pushes for delay in child abuse inquiry

Labour peer’s son says public inquiry’s investigation of his father should wait until after civil court cases
Lord Janner is alleged to have abused youngsters over a period spanning more than 30 years. His son said he was entirely innocent.  Press Association  Sunday 28 August 2016

The family of Greville Janner wants the public inquiry into child abuse to delay its investigation of the late Labour peer.

Lord Janner, 87, who died in December, is alleged to have abused youngsters over a period spanning more than 30 years dating back to the 1950s, with offending said to have taken place at children’s homes and hotels.

The allegations against him are due to be examined at hearings of the public inquiry next March.

But his son has said that as civil proceedings by some of his alleged victims have been started, the claims should go through the courts – where his father’s accusers can be cross-examined – before they feature in the inquiry.

Daniel Janner QC told the BBC he had prepared a submission for the home affairs select committee, which is due to question the home secretary, Amber Rudd, next month….
