Michael Jackson ran the ‘most sophisticated child sexual abuse’ operation in history: suit
BY Nancy Dillon Stephen Rex Brown NEW YORK DAILY NEWS Tuesday, September 13, 2016
Michael Jackson operated the most sophisticated child sex abuse operation “the world has known,” an alleged victim of the King of Pop claims in new documents.
The shocking claims are included in an amended complaint filed by Wade Robson, a choreographer who was taken under Jackson’s wing as a child.
In the new filings, Robson, 33, alleges that Jackson and his inner circle sought out children in systematic fashion through two companies, MJJ Productions and MJJ Ventures. The companies — ostensibly dedicated to creating and disseminating Jackson’s entertainment — served “dual purposes,” Robson’s lawyer told the Daily News.
“MJJ Productions operated the most sophisticated child sexual abuse procurement and facilitation operation the world has known,” Robson’s lawyer Vince Finaldi said Monday.
“Although MJJ Productions on its face was a multimedia company dedicated to creating and distributing Michael Jackson’s music and entertainment, it actually served a dual purpose, and that was locating, producing and enabling his sexual abuse of kids,” he said…. http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/michael-jackson-ran-elaborate-child-sex-abuse-operation-suit-article-1.2790802
St. George’s investigator wants Rhode Island to overhaul its child-abuse law
A report issued Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016, said that at least one in five girls who attended the elite Rhode Island boarding school in the 1970s was sexually abused by the same athletic trainer.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — An independent investigation that found widespread abuse at the elite St. George’s School is also advising Rhode Island to overhaul its law on reporting child abuse.
The state amended its mandatory reporting law this year in response to newly emerged reports alleging decades of sexual abuse at the private boarding school in Middletown. In July, Democratic Gov. Gina Raimondo signed a bill into law that makes it clear that schools must report suspected abuse to the state’s child welfare agency and law enforcement within 24 hours.
But the investigation calls that change “just a patch on a tired statute” and suggests the entire law should be broadly rewritten….
The critique of the Rhode Island law comes at the end of a 198-page report by Boston lawyer Martin Murphy that describes St. George’s as a “private hell” for dozens of students in the 1970s and ’80s who were sexually abused by faculty and staff. The school and the alumni survivors’ group SGS for Healing hired Murphy to document what happened. He was also invited to make recommendations to prevent sexual abuse…. https://www.boston.com/news/crime/2016/09/12/st-georges-investigator-wants-rhode-island-to-overhaul-its-child-abuse-law

Police Investigating Sexual Abuse Claims at Prestigious New England Boarding School
By Chris Harris 01/06/2016
Two New England attorneys are saying they’ve been in touch with more than 40 alumni of an affluent Rhode Island boarding school that allege staff members or other pupils sexually assaulted them during the 1970s and 1980s.
PEOPLE spoke Wednesday with Eric MacLeish, one of the two lawyers behind a press conference held on Tuesday in which four graduates of the St. George’s School in Middletown accused school officials of covering up years of systemic abuse.
“I have never run across anything like this,” MacLeish, who has spent his career representing victims of childhood sexual abuse, tells PEOPLE; he’s a St. George’s alum.
“Officials were not reporting claims from students but instead, imposing gag orders on those victims,” MacLeish explains. “There are prosecutable crimes that occurred here and I expect more victims will be coming forward.”
At Tuesday’s press conference, MacLeish and his co-counsel, attorney Carmen Durso, issued a 36-page response to findings released by St. George’s headmaster, Eric Peterson, and the school’s Board of Trustees back in December.
The school’s own report, which was obtained by PEOPLE, capped a 10-month investigation into sex abuse allegations from 26 staff and students who’d worked at or attended the school during the ’70s and ’80s.
It concluded there was no evidence to indicate school officials “simply ignored” complaints of sexual misconduct while acknowledging “the school could have done more to keep its students safe.” The school’s report also included an apology and outlined steps administrators would be taking to get potential victims mental health counseling.
But Tuesday’s detailed response alleges school administrators deliberately dropped the ball, failing to report known or suspected abuse to Rhode Island’s Department of Children, Youth and Families. Instead, offenders were either terminated or expelled, MacLeish claims….
