Police break up massive Norwegian paedophilia ring
NTB/The Local 21 November 2016
Norwegian police have filed charges against 51 individuals involved in a grotesque paedophilia ring thought to be one of the largest child sexual abuse cases in the nation’s history.
Dubbed ‘Operation Dark Room’, the police action revealed a number of atrocities against children as young as infancy.
Police seized 150 terabytes of data material in the form of photos, movies and chat transcripts between members of various paedophile networks.
“The material shows the abuse of children of all ages, including infants,” Hilde Reikrås, the head of Operation Dark Room, said at a press conference on Sunday.
Reikrås also gave examples of the scope of the horrific abuse….
Soldiers, police search Mexican state after grisly discovery
AP November 25, 2016
ACAPULCO, Mexico — Soldiers and police fanned out Friday across the southern Mexican state of Guerrero, chasing a wounded gang leader and trying to quell a wave of violence that included the discovery of hidden graves holding dozens of bodies and a camp where gunmen stored the severed heads of nine rivals in a cooler.,..
When one of the joint military-police patrols happened upon the camp earlier this week, it found a kidnapped man and what appeared to be clandestine burial pits. Investigators initially reported finding a dozen bodies. After days of digging, they discovered 32 bodies in 17 pits.
The camp is near the area where nine decapitated bodies were found dumped on a roadside last week. The nine heads found in coolers at the camp may belong to those bodies, investigators said. The bodies and heads were taken to forensic labs in a bid to identify them.
The area has been the scene of turf battles between two rival drug gangs – the Rojos and the Ardillos – who engage in extortion, kidnappings and killings. That rivalry has resulted in hundreds of deaths and disappearances in recent years.
But in recent weeks the violence has spread to other areas, apparently as a result of turf battles between two or three other gangs, including the La Familia and the Tequileros gangs.

Ex-DJ Chris Denning admits child sex offences 22 August 2016

Former BBC DJ Chris Denning has pleaded guilty to 21 child sex offences committed between 1969 and 1986.
The 75-year-old, from London, admitted the abuse of 11 boys as young as eight. He denied three other offences.
Denning, who was arrested in a police inquiry into the Walton Hop Disco for teenagers in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey, will be sentenced on 6 October.
He was part of the original line-up that launched Radio 1 in 1967, but left two years later.
The prosecution said it did not intend to proceed with a trial on the three charges to which Denning had pleaded not guilty.
He is currently serving a 13-year jail term for sexual assaults against 24 victims aged nine to 16 from the 1960s to 1980s….
Denning had a number of previous convictions for abusing young boys.
In 1974, he was convicted of gross indecency and indecent assault but was not imprisoned.
He was then jailed for 18 months in 1985 for gross indecency, and in 1988 he received a three-year sentence, this time for indecent assault and possession of indecent images.
In 1996, he was handed a 10-week sentence for publishing indecent articles.
He was arrested in the Czech Republic in 1997 and eventually jailed in 2000 by a Prague court for four and a half years for having sexual contact with underage teenage boys.
The UK tried and failed to have Denning extradited from the Czech Republic, but in 2005 he was arrested at Heathrow Airport, having arrived from Austria.
In January 2006, a British court jailed him for four years after he admitted five charges of indecent assault on boys under 16 during the 1970s and 80s.
He was then extradited to Slovakia, where he was given a five-year sentence in 2008 for producing indecent images of children.
Does Religious Liberty Include the Right to Harass and Harm?
By Marcia A. Hamilton On 8/21/16
The religious liberty movement of this era will go down in infamy as a drive to discriminate against the LGBTQ community and to put women and children in their “places:” subservient to men.
It is time to become more realistic and authentic about the moves being taken by conservative religious lobbyists and the so-called “religious liberty” they demand….
Today, in this era of demands for extreme religious liberty, those seeking extreme protections have made it difficult for elected representatives to protect the potential victims of religious actors, because the religious lobbyists have kept their agendas close to the vest while furiously waving the religious liberty flag. Civil rights organizations fell for the rhetoric in the early 1990s, but since then have recoiled from the discriminatory agendas as they have surfaced.
The battle to keep religiously motivated discriminatory agendas secret while demanding “religious liberty” to discriminate continues. Two recent examples provide further evidence of the contemporary drive by religious entities to discriminate and to do so under the radar, without concern or regard for those they will harm….
The bottom line is that the religious organization is simply being required to state the basis for its claimed need to avoid the law that applies to every other school. If it is not motivated by a religious belief, the exemption is illegitimate anyway….
This is, at base, an argument for absolute autonomy, theocracy and/or anarchy. It is indefensible in a diverse democratic society….
Yet, the government has no obligation to perpetuate any religious entity, and indeed I would argue that the Establishment Clause forbids the government from taking sides to preserve a religious institution. A religious entity must prove its bona fides to believers and the public in the private marketplace in religion or shrivel away. After all, religious institutions are live entities in a dynamic relationship with the culture….

Gary Glitter, former British pop star, convicted of child sex abuse
Gary Glitter — who is now 70 years old — could spend the rest of his life in prison. A London jury found him guilty of six crimes: one count of attempted rape, four counts of indecent assault and one count of unlawful sex with a girl under the age of 13, which carries a life sentence.
BY Meg Wagner NEW YORK DAILY NEWS Thursday, February 5, 2015
Former British glam rocker Gary Glitter was found guilty of sexually abusing against three young girls between 1975 and 1980.
The “Do You Wanna Touch Me?” singer — who is now 70 years old — could spend the rest of his life in prison, the Guardian reported….
The singer was first arrested in October 2012, the first in a series of arrests under Operation Yewtree, a national child abuse scandal investigation.
The one-time pop star was charged in June following a 20-month investigation. One of his victims was 8 years old when he tried to rape her in 1975. Two more were girls were 12 and 14 when he attacked. Some of the girls were his fans.
Glitter was cleared of three charges: two counts of indecent assault and one count of administering a drug to facilitate sexual intercourse. Still, the six other convictions could carry hefty prison time. The unlawful sex charge carries a life sentence….
The crimes sat unpunished for 40 years because of the “immunity of fame”, prosecutors said….
His career peaked in the early 1970s. He is best known for “Rock & Roll (Part 2),” a hit in both the United States and Britain. He fell into disgrace after being convicted and imprisoned on child abuse charges in Vietnam.

Singer convicted of string of offences in 1970s and 1980s, including attempted rape of an eight-year-old child

Former Glam rock star Gary Glitter faces spending the remainder of his life in prison after being found guilty of a series of child sex offences on three young girls, aged between 8 and 13.
A jury of five men and seven women took two days to convict the flamboyant star, now 70, of six offences, committed in the 1970’s and 1980’s, including the attempted rape of an eight-year-old child and having unlawful sex with a 12-year-old girl, a charge which carries a life sentence.
Judge Alistair McCreath told him: “In light of verdicts, I am remanding him in custody.”
Glitter was cleared of two counts of indecent assault and one count of administering a drug or other thing in order to facilitate sexual intercourse. He will be sentenced on 27 February….
His predatory sexual offences against his child victims, including fans that helped propel him to stardom, went unpunished for 40 years because of the “immunity of fame”, the prosecution said during the trial.
However, that vanished after the singer’s fall from grace when he was found to have a “voracious” appetite for child abuse images. He was convicted in 1999 of building up a library of 4,000 such images, some involving children as young as two….
The jury did not hear about Gadd’s 2006 conviction and three-year prison sentence for molesting two girls aged 11 and 12, because it occurred in a Vietnam court, outside the jurisdiction of the UK….
His first victim, who first went to police in 1998, has faced a long wait for justice. A court decided that it was not at that time possible to try him for on charges related to her allegations.
Gadd was also tried in 1999 over the alleged sexual assault of a fourth teenage fan, a former girlfriend who said they began a sexual relationship when she was 14. He was acquitted after a controversial summing up, which drew complaints from children’s groups, in which the judge told the jury: “Some 14-year-olds look like sophisticated young ladies, a nightmare for many publicans.”….

ORILLILA, ON — Police say there are eight additional child victims in a sexual assault case that includes accusations of bestiality, conspiracy to kidnap and rape a child, voyeurism and the making of child pornography.
Police have also introduced new allegations that some children were drugged before they were sexually assaulted.
Shayne Lund, 22, of Midland, Ont., has been in custody since October on 110 sex-related charges.
Two female friends of his are also in custody. It is alleged the women helped Lund get access to children between the ages of two and five.
Avery Taylor, 20, is facing 20 charges. Kathryn Thompson, 19, faces 26 charges. Both are from Orillia.
The new allegations against the three accused include administering a noxious substance to children as young as two years old, coercing children to have sex with animals, coercing them to commit voyeurism and videotaping them in sexual acts….
Narok gripped by fear of ‘cult whose aim is to kill, maim Friday, January 24th 2014 By KIPCHUMBA KEMEI
Narok town residents are living in fear of a gang whose apparent mission is to hack to death as many people as it can.
Since September last year when the first attack was reported, the machete wielding gang has killed at least three people. Several others have been permanently maimed.
The gang has been operating day and night unhindered in the densely populated Majengo, Mukuru and other estates in the town’s outskirts, forcing residents to retire to their homes early for fear of being attacked. Some parents have withdrawn their children from school to safeguard them from the gang whose number, mission and mode of operation have puzzled the police and the National Intelligence Service….
Narok County Police Commander Grace Kaikai believes the gang is a cult whose mission is only to kill in for what they have been made to believe. “There are strong indications that it is a cult. The way it operates and the fact that it’s members don’t take anything from their victims lend credence to that. We are working round the clock to identify its members and have them answer for the deaths and injuries,” she says. …
