Mom Gouged Son’s Eyes Out In Drug-Fueled Ritual, Mexico Authorities Say
By MARK STEVENSON 05/24/12

MEXICO CITY — Police in a Mexico City suburb arrested a mother and several relatives Thursday for allegedly gouging out the eyes of her 5-year-old son in what authorities said appeared to have been a drug-fueled ritual….

Mexico state prosecutor Isaac Acevedo told local media that a total of eight people had been detained and that investigators believed the mother herself gouged the boy’s eyes out with her fingers. The boy’s father was apparently not in the home at the time.

The crime appeared to have been part of a ritual, but was not apparently related to the Santa Muerte or Saint Death cult, some of whose followers were recently charged with the sacrificial killings of two 10-year-old boys and a 55-year-old woman in northern Sonora state, he said….

While statues of Saint Death are common in many poor Mexican neighborhoods, Chavez said no altar or statue of the figure was found in the Nezahualcoyotl home.

Mexico’s worst case of ritual sacrifice came with the notorious “narco-satanicos” killings of the 1980s. Fifteen bodies, many of them with signs of ritual sacrifice, were unearthed at a ranch outside the border city of Matamoros, across from Brownsville, Texas.

Children Killed During Cult’s Ritual Sacrifices In Mexico Border Town

April 2, 2012 HERMOSILLO, Mexico (AP) — Eight people have been arrested for allegedly killing two 10-year-old boys and a 55-year-old woman in ritual sacrifices by the cult of La Santa Muerte, or Saint Death, prosecutors in northern Mexico said Friday….

The grisly slayings recalled the notorious “narco-satanicos” killings of the 1980s, when 15 bodies, many of them with signs of ritual sacrifice, were unearthed at a ranch outside the border city of Matamoros, across from Brownsville, Texas.

Mexican Family Accused of Human Sacrifices

Mexican Family Accused of Human Sacrifices

Published March 30, 2012

EFE

Mexico City –  Eight members of a Mexican family were arrested in the northern state of Sonora on suspicion of committing ritual murders, authorities said.

The spokesman for the state Attorney General’s Office, José Larrinaga, told Efe that the arrests made on Tuesday resulted from a recent report on the disappearance of a 7-year-old boy.

He said that when questioned by police on the matter, some of the boy’s family members began contradicting each other and finally confessed that they had taken the youngster’s life “as a sacrifice to Santa Muerte (Holy Death).”….

He said that those in custody were interrogated about another minor whose disappearance was reported about a year ago “and they admitted to killing him as well and finally confessed that they had also slain a woman.”….

The AG’s office spokesman said that the investigations are continuing to determine whether there were other participants in the murders or other if more people were sacrificed.

The Santa Muerte cult, popular among drug traffickers and some other Mexican criminals, is an eccentric blend of Christianity, Indian traditions and folk beliefs that arose in the 1940s in poor Mexico City neighborhoods and subsequently spread throughout the country….

Wikipedophilia By James R. Marsh on April 20, 2010 ….About two years ago, rumors started floating around about Wikipedia’s involvement with child pornography and the pedophile agenda. First there was a row about this image on Wikipedia depicting child nudity. Then there was the long-standing allegation by Perverted Justice that:
Pedophiles have long sought to use Wikipedia to justify and promote their agenda. They organize together in order to create Wikipedia accounts and then seek to use Wikipedia’s all-inclusiveness to promote their point of view. When pointed out, Wikipedians themselves often don’t believe that there is an organized campaign to subvert the user-edited encyclopedia in order to promote the pedophile agenda.
Well now these allegations have risen to a new level. Last week, Wikipedia co-founder Larry Sanger reported the site’s parent organization to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, saying he believes the Wikimedia Commons “may be knowingly distributing child pornography.”

Wikipedia’s accuracy rate has been questioned.
Comparison of Wikipedia and other encyclopedias for accuracy, breadth, and depth in historical articles
Findings – The study did reveal inaccuracies in eight of the nine entries and exposed major flaws in at least two of the nine Wikipedia articles. Overall, Wikipedia’s accuracy rate was 80 percent compared with 95-96 percent accuracy within the other sources. This study does support the claim that Wikipedia is less reliable than other reference resources. Furthermore, the research found at least five unattributed direct quotations and verbatim text from other sources with no citations.

2) Its editors are anonymous and may be biased about the topic they are writing about and may be unqualified to write encyclopedia articles.
3) There is inconsistent or no fact checking, depending on the article.
4) The rules of wikipedia at times are used to control article content and delete other content from strong sources.

Therefore, one is probably better off reading a peer reviewed encyclopedia or journal article, due to the potential for reading inaccurate information and a slanted or biased article.

Suit alleges Cardinal Mahony conspired to hide priest’s sexual abuse of children
The 25-year-old Mexican national also accuses a Mexican cardinal of involvement. The suit filed in L.A. cites a little-used law. April 20, 2010 By Carol J. Williams, Los Angeles Times

A 25-year-old Mexican man filed suit Tuesday alleging that Cardinal Roger Mahony of the Los Angeles Archdiocese and a Mexican cardinal conspired to hide a priest’s 20-plus years of child sexual abuse, exposing dozens more young victims to rape by a known pedophile.

The complaint filed in federal court in Los Angeles relies on a U.S. law, more than 200 years old, that allows foreign victims of human rights abuses to bring their perpetrators to justice in U.S. courts. The civil suit is the first known to use the Alien Tort Claims Act of 1789 to demand a jury trial and compensation for sexual offenses committed abroad by clergy, attorneys said.

The suit accuses Mahony and Cardinal Norberto Rivera Carrera of Mexico City of negligence and conspiracy in covering up allegations against Father Nicolas Aguilar Rivera in Los Angeles and at Mexican parishes. The plaintiff, whose name was not disclosed in the suit, alleges that he was abused by the priest in 1997, when he was a 12-year-old altar boy.

The Mexican-born Aguilar first came to the attention of police in late 1986, after he was beaten by several attackers. Authorities speculated that the attack was in retaliation for his alleged abuse of young boys during overnight stays at the rectory in the Diocese of Tehuacan, Mexico. A month later, then-Bishop Rivera wrote to Mahony to offer Aguilar for placement in a Los Angeles ministry, with a coded reference to the priest being problematic, the lawsuit alleges.

Mahony appointed Aguilar associate pastor at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Los Angeles in March 1987, and two months later, transferred him to St. Agatha Catholic Church, according to the suit. Within nine months of Aguilar’s arrival, Los Angeles police had amassed 26 reports of sexual abuse of minors by the priest, who fled to Mexico the night Mahony was informed of the abuse allegations, according to the suit filed by attorney Jeffery R. Anderson….Anderson … said Aguilar is suspected of abusing as many as 60 boys in Mexico as well as the 26 reported in Los Angeles. “For 21 years, from 1988 until Nicolas Aguilar Rivera was defrocked, he was allowed to utilize the authority of the church in Mexico to brutalize children,” said Los Angeles attorney Anthony M. De Marco, who represents others who allege that they were abused by Aguilar.

California: 2 Archdioceses Sued By REBECCA CATHCART April 20, 2010 Lawyers for a Mexican man who says he was abused as a boy by his priest in Mexico filed a civil complaint Tuesday against archdioceses here and in Mexico. The complaint was filed under the Alien Tort Claims Act, meant to prosecute human rights abuses committed outside the United States. The complaint accuses Cardinals Roger Mahony of Los Angeles and Norberto Rivera of Tehuacan, Mexico, of transferring the priest, the Rev. Nicolás Aguilar-Rivera, a Mexican citizen, between dioceses despite his history of sexual abuse. Tod Tamberg, a spokesman for the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles, said Cardinal Mahony was not warned of the priest’s history before the transfer. A 20-year-old warrant for the arrest of the priest on 19 counts of child rape is pending in Los Angeles. He was defrocked in 2009.

20,000 young women and children trafficked yearly – Mexico, Annett attacked

Mexican woman tells of ordeal with cross-border child traffickers – In interview with Channel 4 News, young woman says babies and young children are ‘sold to order’ to US nationals Nick Martin in Ciudad Juárez, guardian.co.uk, 11 January 2010

A young Mexican woman who escaped from human traffickers has told US special agents how she witnessed babies and children being “sold to order” to US citizens. America’s Department of Homeland Security in Washington says the girl, known only as Maria, had “significant ~information” and possessed a “remarkable memory” of her experiences inside the gang. In an interview with Channel 4 News, to be broadcast tonight, the teenager tells of a cross-border trade in babies and young children, where Mexican and US gangs worked together to supply a demand in the United States. As a result of the interview, US officials and Mexican authorities have begun an investigation into the alleged trafficking….

Since the 1990s, thousands of women have disappeared from the town. Hundreds of bodies bearing signs of rape and sexual mutilation have been dumped on waste ground in the city; thousands more have never returned. In 2009, 55 teenage girls vanished in the town, which has been gripped by violence as two drug cartels fight a lethal turf war over cocaine smuggling routes into the US….The US state department estimates that more than 20,000 young women and children are trafficked across the border from Mexico each year. But conviction rates remain low. http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2010/jan/11/mexican-woman-border-child-traffic

Kevin Annett, beaten, exposes role of Canada’s police and churches in sex crimes and child trafficking Brenda Norrell 1/11/10

Kevin Annett, human rights activist beaten in Vancouver on Wednesday, released a new article today exposing the role of Canada’s police and churches in sex crimes and child trafficking, including the abuse of Native women and children.

Kevin Annett, a community minister, was assaulted by two men in Vancouver’s downtown eastside on Wednesday, Jan. Jan. 6, 2010,  just two days after he published an article on church and government complicity in child trafficking on Canada’s west coast.

Annett suffered cuts, bruises, and at least one broken rib as a result of the unprovoked beating by two men, one of whom is linked to a downtown church agency.
Today, after being beaten, Annett released a new article on the role of Vancouver police in sex crimes http://www.censored-news.blogspot.com/

….Annett has exposed the rape, torture and murder of Native children in Canada’s residential schools, through church documents and interviews. In one case, a Native girl was raped and the infant she gave birth to was thrown into the furnace. The abuse of Native children in Canada’s residential schools mirrored the abuse in aboriginal boarding schools in Australia and BIA boarding schools in the United States.

Annett is now exposing the role of the church and Canadian government in sex crimes, including the disappearance of Native children in child trafficking and murder of Native women.

Annett, who for fifteen years has led the campaign to bring to justice the churches and government responsible for genocide in Canada’s Indian Residential Schools, made international news in October 2009 when he held the first memorial service for missing native children outside the Vatican in Rome.

Rev. Annett, school survivors and native elders have also led high profile protests and occupations of churches in Vancouver and Toronto since 2005, and on many occasions Annett has been threatened by church officials and police, according to a statement from Hidden From History. http://narcosphere.narconews.com/notebook/brenda-norrell/2010/01/kevin-annett-beaten-exposes-role-canadas-police-and-churches-sex-cri#new

MEXICO: Child Sexual Exploitation Fuelled, Protected by Economic Clout

http://ritualabuse.us

By Adrián Reyes  MEXICO CITY, Jul 27, 2009 (IPS) – While the Mexican government is touting the imprisonment of businessman Jean Succar, accused of running a child sex ring, as evidence of its tough stance against child sexual exploitation, authorities also admit that the number of minors subjected to such crimes has increased from 16,000 to 20,000 over the last six years.

Paedophilia and sexual exploitation of minors are not classified as serious offences in almost half of Mexico’s 31 states, increasing the likelihood of impunity, according to Ana Rosa Payán, general director of the Office and System of Integral Development for Family Welfare (DIF), created in 1970….

Journalist Lydia Cacho told IPS that the Mexican state has failed to effectively address the needs and protection of victims, and some organisations, such as the DIF, have even “allowed some minors to fall into the hands” of sexual abusers.

“Mexico is a paradise for child prostitution and pornography, because these rings have enough economic power to corrupt and operate with impunity,” said Cacho. Her book, “Los demonios del Edén” (The Demons of Eden), contains the personal accounts of minors who talk about the sexual abuse they suffered at the hands of a child prostitution and pornography racket she alleges was run by Succar.

She added that the abuse and sexual exploitation of minors is closely linked to other phenomena, such as organised crime, drug trafficking and money laundering.
The 43-year-old activist and writer herself has been under police protection since she began to receive threats last year, after she was arrested by the police, driven 900 km to the state of Puebla, held for 30 hours, mistreated and threatened….

When the news of her arrest broke, the rights watchdog Amnesty International, the World Organisation Against Torture, the Inter-American Press Association and other international groups raised an outcry, and Cacho was released on bail.

Cacho, also the co-founder of the Centro Integral para Mujeres Víctimas de la Violencia (CIAM), a shelter for victims of domestic violence and rape in the southeast tourist mecca of Cancún, has also warned of paedophilia rings in Jalisco and Guerrero, southwestern states with major tourism resorts like Puerto Vallarta and Acapulco.
Deputy Rodrigo Iván Cortés, of the ruling conservative National Action Party (PAN), agrees that the paedophilia case in Cancún is not an isolated incident, saying Acapulco also is plagued with the scourge, fuelled by people with great economic clout.

Cortés, a member of the special parliamentary commission on children, adolescents and family, lamented that the “pettiness” of other political sectors in the Chamber of Deputies blocked significant progress on more stringent legal measures that would have facilitated the fight against organised crime….

The legislator pointed to the creation of the “Cyber Police,” in the Office of the Public Prosecutor, as a major step forward in combating and stamping out paedophile rings. The task force has shut down more than 400 Internet sites that had been distributing child pornography.

Mexico has joined the fight against international paedophile rings and has focused particularly on the distribution of material over the Internet, said Cortés. He added that perpetrators tend to become addicted to their deviant behaviour and progress to more serious crimes….

Cacho, who worked with several of the victims through her organisation, told IPS that the younger victims “suffered horrifying and unimaginable abuse – they were tortured.” All the more reason for judicial authorities and the federal government to ensure that this high profile child abuse case does not go unpunished, she added.
