Sandusky, victims plan to speak at sentencing
By MARK SCOLFORO | Associated Press 10/8/12

BELLEFONTE, Pa. (AP) — Jerry Sandusky and at least some of his victims plan to address the judge at his sentencing, a proceeding that may last less than two hours, lawyers said after a closed-door meeting to iron out logistics ahead of the Tuesday hearing. Sandusky lawyer Joe Amendola said “it’s as certain as certain can be” that the former Penn State assistant football coach will speak to Judge John Cleland and assert his innocence before he is sentenced on 45 counts of child sexual abuse….

Given the number of charges, the serious nature of his crimes and his age, the 68-year-old Sandusky faces the likelihood of a sentence that will send him to state prison for the rest of his life. Sandusky was convicted in June of abusing 10 boys over 15 years, including some attacks inside Penn State athletic facilities….

Lead prosecutor Joe McGettigan said as many as a half-dozen victims are expected to be heard. The eight victims who testified against Sandusky at trial described abuse that ranged from grooming and fondling to oral and anal sex. Sandusky did not take the stand but gave interviews shortly after his arrest in which he declared he was not guilty….

Sandusky inquiry remains very active, Survivorship Webinar “From Fragmentation to Integration”

Sandusky inquiry remains ‘very active’
By Kevin Johnson, USA TODAY 7/13/12

Pennsylvania prosecutors are developing “new information” in their continuing investigation into former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky and how the university handled the initial allegations against the now-convicted pedophile, a spokesman for the state attorney general said Friday.

Nils Frederiksen, a spokesman for Attorney General Linda Kelly, described the inquiry as “very active” after Thursday’s release of a scathing internal investigation of the university headed by Louis Freeh. The former FBI director found that top Penn State officials concealed information related to Sandusky’s abuse of children dating back to 1998.

Sandusky was convicted of 45 counts of child sexual abuse last month and is in a central Pennsylvania jail awaiting formal sentencing.

Some of the information being reviewed by prosecutors, according to court documents filed in a Harrisburg court last month, are e-mails and other correspondence that reference an incident in 1998 in which Sandusky was accused of sexually abusing a boy in a university shower-room. The correspondence, which references communication involving university President Graham Spanier, Athletic Director Tim Curley, now on leave, retired university vice president Gary Schultz and head football coach Joe Paterno, was only recently turned over to prosecutors, according to court papers.

Some of the information was turned over to prosecutors by investigators working for Freeh. The cache includes e-mail references to Paterno’s apparent knowledge of the incident in 1998. That information was not available to prosecutors when Paterno told a grand jury he was not aware of any allegations of misconduct involving Sandusky apart from an incident in 2001, when Paterno was told by football assistant Michael McQueary that Sandusky was involved in sexual activity with a young boy in a university shower-room….

Frederiksen declined to elaborate on the focus of the criminal inquiry, but he said Freeh’s report “reinforces our findings that there was an effort by top administrators at Penn State to conceal the truth.”….

Attorneys for Spanier, Curley and Schultz have challenged Freeh’s report, saying their clients did not conceal information about Sandusky’s activities. Paterno’s son, Jay, said Freeh’s conclusions were based on “incomplete information.” “Joe did not cover up for Jerry Sandusky or conceal information,” the son said.

Survivorship Webinar “From Fragmentation to Integration” Dr. Cathy Kezelman Saturday, June 16 3 pm Pacific Time -

This webinar will depict my personal psychotherapeutic journey to explore the process of recovery from an extreme dissociative state, which was characterised by a complete amnesia for 10 years of my childhood and fragmentation of my self onto integration and recovery. Despite my therapist providing a safe reliable and contained space it took me a long time to trust her or appreciate that she could keep me in mind. She was empathic, compassionate and skilled and the relationship we developed was core to my survival and my recovery. Over years she bore witness to the dissociated fragments of trauma returning to my consciousness and the intense emotions which were overwhelming me. Through a committed analytical psychotherapeutic process she guided me from terror and confusion through chaos and onto acceptance and understanding.

“From Fragmentation to Integration”

This webinar will depict my personal psychotherapeutic journey to explore the process of recovery from an extreme dissociative state, which was characterised by a complete amnesia for 10 years of my childhood and fragmentation of my self onto integration and recovery. Despite my therapist providing a safe reliable and contained space it took me a long time to trust her or appreciate that she could keep me in mind. Over years she bore witness to the dissociated fragments of trauma returning to my consciousness and the intense emotions which were overwhelming me. Through a committed analytical psychotherapeutic process she guided me from terror and confusion through chaos and onto acceptance and understanding.

It will explore the changes in me from having little insight into myself, my inner world, relationships or functioning as a whole being. I now know my own unique feelings and choices, and have the capacity to reflect, form deeper relationships and live a full rich life.

Dr. Cathy Kezelman is President at ASCA (Adults Surviving Child Abuse), an Australian national charity which advocates for a trauma informed approach to care and trauma specific services for survivors of complex trauma secondary to child abuse and neglect. She is a director of MHCC (Mental Health Co-ordinating Council NSW). She is an active advocate for Australian adult survivors of childhood trauma and informed mental health responses to trauma. Early in 2010 she published her memoir, ‘Innocence Revisited’ – a tale in parts, her story of recovery from childhood trauma. Cathy is also a mother of four adult children and a foster child.

Information from person that has MPD/DID

posted with permission

I have MPD/DID and was diagnosed by one of the most famous physicians, and treated by one of the most famous psychologists, but I got physically ill and had to stop treatment. This was back in the late 90′s. Since then, my memories have come back on MY OWN, without a psychologist. No, I do not have a B12 deficiency because I was tested at a muscular dystrophy clinic for Pernicious anemia.

My memories of horrific abuse and torture have been helpful to the district attorney’s office in Philadelphia, and I am not the only one reporting this abuse. I have had several district attorneys to my home to interview me. I don’t think they would waste their time with numerous interviews if I was delusional.

I have never been integrated, I am still a multiple. This abuse and torture of a child is a gift that keeps on giving……..This horrific abuse has to stop. I wonder who finances these people? I have my guesses.

I have nothing to gain financially from this, are the false memory people able to say the same? I never wrote a book, there will be no movie, but I know I am helping the Philadelphia DA’s with my memories of abuse and torture.

I will die a poor women, but I have my dignity, and I know the circumstances surrounding my life. That was important to me, to know what, where and why this happened. This was my one and only goal. And to know that I have helped for the greater good, and have been a voice for so many.

Respectfully,

Judith Weiss Collins
